Why do clicks in Codus take several seconds?

Codus 0.2.180 fixed a cause of long click delays associated with background checks of stopped Brains. Several idle Brains made that problem worse. You can keep unused Brains stopped; starting or deleting all of them is not a required workaround after that update.

Check Settings → Updates and the installed Codus version. If you are on an older build, save work and install an available update. Do not delete Brains, project folders or app data as a workaround.

If it still happens after updating

That fix does not establish the cause of every slowdown. Report the installed version, when the delay happened, the action you clicked and whether the whole app or only one terminal paused. Include a screenshot or short recording if useful, with private information removed.

A developer can inspect the running app while the delay happens. Do not assume system load, cloud sync or an idle-looking terminal is responsible without checking. Restarting may interrupt running agents and local servers, and is not proof that the underlying issue is fixed.

How do I know it worked?

Repeat the action that was slow with the same Brains stopped. Check that the response is prompt over several attempts. A version number alone does not prove a different cause of slow clicks has been resolved.
