Why does the Brain's text flash when I have two Codus windows open?

Codus 0.2.213 fixes the Brain's text flashing quickly whenever two Codus windows are open, for example after dragging a tab out into its own window. Each window shows the same Brain, and in 0.2.212 and earlier each window kept resizing it to fit itself, many times a second. Every resize made the Brain redraw its screen, which looked like fast flashing.

From 0.2.213, the window you are working in sets the Brain's size and the other window follows it.

Before you start

You need Codus open and permission to install updates.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Updates and install Codus 0.2.213 or newer. Save your work first; Codus restarts to finish the update.
  2. Until you can update, close the extra window: its tabs move back into the remaining window and your agents keep running.

What to expect with two windows

When you click into the other window, the Brain resizes once to fit that window, then stays still. In the window you are not using, the Brain keeps the other window's size, so if that window is smaller, the edge of the Brain's text can be cut off until you click into it.

How do I know it worked?

Open a second window and watch the Brain in both: the text stays still. Clicking between the windows causes a single redraw each time, not continuous flashing.
