How do I sign in to the codus web app?

Go to app.trycodus.com and tap Continue with GitHub. GitHub is the only way to sign in, and there is no password to set. Use the same GitHub account you use in the codus Mac app, so your phone and your desktop show the same projects.

Before you start

  • You need a GitHub account.
  • Sign in to the desktop app with that same GitHub account too, or the web app will have no desktop to talk to.

Steps

  1. Open app.trycodus.com in any browser, on your phone or your computer.
  2. You land on a page headed Push tasks to codus, across your team.
  3. Tap Continue with GitHub. The button changes to "Connecting to GitHub…" while it hands you over.
  4. GitHub asks you to authorize codus the first time. Approve it. The screen notes that this is "Secure OAuth sign-in" and that codus asks only for the access needed to sync your repos and folders.
  5. You are returned to the dashboard, signed in.

How do I know it worked?

You see the dashboard with the List, Quadrants, and Notes tabs and a Search tasks box at the top. If your desktop is running codus and signed in to the same account, your projects and live desktops appear within a few seconds.

Common problems

  • I signed in but I see no projects or desktops. You may be signed in to a different GitHub account than the one on your desktop. Both sides must use the same account. Sign out and back in with the right one.
  • I am signed in but the Quadrants tab is empty. That is usually the desktop, not your phone. See My phone says "No live desktops" but codus is running.
  • There is no email sign-in or password option. That is expected. codus signs you in through GitHub only.
