Why does Execute show "! retry" on my phone?
The run request did not complete successfully. Read the Dispatch failed detail, check the intended desktop and project, then use ! retry once the cause is addressed. It is not proof that the phone's connection is the cause, or that repeating the request will always fix it.
Before you retry
Confirm whether the task is already running on the desktop, especially after a timeout or an interrupted connection. A missing acknowledgement is not the same as proof that no work started. Keep the existing task rather than creating duplicate tasks to work around the error.
What to do
- Note the error attached to the red ! retry button. Small cards may show it as a red ! circle.
- Open Quadrants on the phone. Confirm the expected computer is live and has the task's folder open.
- Check the network connection on both devices and the desktop's cloud sign-in.
- If the task is not already running and the target is available, tap ! retry.
- Follow the task state and confirm activity in the intended desktop terminal. If it fails again, keep the error and investigate instead of repeatedly submitting it.
Red retry versus grey offline
Offline means no suitable live desktop is available for that folder. ! retry means a run request failed. The two states need different checks. See no live desktops and running from a phone.
How do I know it worked?
The request progresses through its queue/start states and the intended agent actually begins the task. Closing the phone's page does not stop work already running on the desktop; closing Codus or sleeping the computer can interrupt it.
If a live target still cannot start the task, report the task, project, computer, time and exact error. If the work finished but its record is absent, use task and Done sync troubleshooting.
