Why can't my teammate get Codus working?

Check where they are blocked: joining the team, receiving a seat, signing in with the right GitHub account, claiming device capacity or opening a module. An invitation alone is not a seat, but it is not the only possible cause of an access problem.

Before you start

An owner or admin can review team assignments. The teammate should use their own GitHub account; do not share a login or send passwords to diagnose the problem.

Check in order

  1. On Team, confirm the invited username matches their actual GitHub profile.
  2. Ask them to sign in with that account so the invitation can match and membership can be established.
  3. Check their Seats entry. Assign a free seat if appropriate; membership by itself is not paid access.
  4. Ask them to use the same GitHub account in the desktop.
  5. If the app reports a device limit, review licence capacity, not merely the number of invitations.
  6. If only a module is missing, check More and module access. Promotions and grants can apply separately.

If download is redirected to Billing, review that account's current entitlement before buying again. A valid access grant can provide access without the account owning a subscription.

Changing a company email address does not itself require a new GitHub identity or move the person's work. Adding them to a team also does not cancel a Solo subscription they bought separately.

How do I know it worked?

The intended account has valid access and can open the desktop. For team access, confirm the seated badge; for a device or module issue, confirm that specific operation succeeds too. If it does not, report the exact error and app version.
