How do I sign in to my Codus Cloud account?
Use Settings → Cloud account → Sign in with GitHub and complete the browser approval for the account that holds your Codus access. This identifies your Codus account and cloud records. It is separate from signing into Claude, Codex or another AI provider.
Before you start
Use the same GitHub account on the website and desktop. An anonymous or signed-out state is not a promise that the installed product can be used without access checks. A valid subscription, assigned seat or grant may be needed.
Steps
- Open gear → See all settings → Cloud account.
- Click Sign in with GitHub.
- In the browser, check the GitHub account and complete the approval.
- Return to Codus and confirm the account name and picture.
- If you are investigating sync, also check the intended project and its records. Sign-in alone is not proof every pending change has uploaded.
Sign out removes the active cloud sign-in and interrupts account-dependent features and sync. Save work before changing accounts. Signing out does not cancel a subscription or transfer it to the next login.
Which account is which?
- Codus Cloud: your GitHub identity, access and cloud records.
- AI provider: the account powering the agent, with its own usage and sign-in.
- Integration or saved browser login: a separate service connection.
- Billing email: the payment contact, which can differ from your GitHub email.
See billing identity before treating different email addresses as different licences.
How do I know it worked?
Codus displays the intended GitHub account. For a provider switch, check provider usage and identity separately. For missing tasks, follow sync recovery.
