How do I sign in to my codus cloud account?
Open the full settings page, click Cloud account, then click Sign in with GitHub. A browser window opens for you to approve, and when you come back your name and picture show in the panel. Signing in links codus to your cloud account so your tasks and action log sync. codus works fine without it; until you sign in it shows Not signed in (anonymous).
Steps
- Open the gear (⚙) at the top-right and click See all settings →.
- Click Cloud account in the left list.
- Click Sign in with GitHub. The button changes to Opening browser… while it works.
- In the browser window that opens, choose your GitHub account and approve.
- Come back to codus. The panel now shows your name, and your email under it, with a Sign out button.
How do I know it worked?
The panel swaps from the Not signed in (anonymous) line to your account: your avatar, your name, and your email. A Sign out button appears next to it. That is your confirmation; there is nothing else to save.

In the same Cloud account panel, click Sign out. codus goes back to the anonymous state and stops syncing until you sign in again.
codus cloud account vs Claude account
These are two different sign-ins, and it is easy to mix them up:
- Your codus cloud account (this page) is the GitHub sign-in that syncs your codus tasks and action log.
- Your Claude account is the Anthropic subscription your agents run on, with its own usage limits. That lives in the status bar at the bottom of the app, not here. See How do I check my Claude usage or add a second account?.
Common problems
- The browser opened but nothing happened when I came back. Give it a few seconds; codus updates the panel once GitHub confirms. If it still shows anonymous, click Sign in with GitHub again.
- A red error line appeared under the row. That is the sign-in error codus received. Try again, and make sure you are approving the correct GitHub account.
- I stayed anonymous on purpose. That is fine. codus runs without a cloud account; you will not get task and action syncing.
