Who is on the video agent team, and what does each one do?
The video team is a Creative Director who leads the project, plus up to seven specialists: Editor, Story, Motion Graphics, Researcher, QC, Sound and Thumbnail. The Director plans the edit and hands parts to the specialists, and nothing ships until QC has checked the final render. You see them as a row under Team in the right column when a project is open.
Before you start
- Open a project inside the video tab. The Team row only shows once a project is selected.
- The specialists do not appear until the project is running and the Director has started them, so most of the row is greyed out until then. That is expected.
- How many specialists work on a video depends on the edit scope you chose. A quick edit runs a small team on purpose. The full treatment brings everyone in.
The team
Creative Director. The lead. It plans the edit, decides what each specialist does, keeps the work honest, and pulls the finished video together. When you want to steer the work, this is who you talk to. It is the one agent that starts the moment you run a project.
Editor. Does the actual cut: removes the ums, filler words and false starts, picks the best take when you said a line more than once, tightens the pauses, and adds the gentle zoom-ins that keep it lively. It also renders the video and runs the automatic checks on it. On a quick edit, the Editor does the whole job on its own.
Story. Handles the words. It makes a word-accurate transcript of your recording, maps every stumble and retake, and drafts or tightens the spoken script, grounded in the real facts and written in your voice.
Motion Graphics. Makes the on-screen extras: lower-thirds, titles, simple charts and short B-roll moments. It only adds one where it genuinely helps, so a plain talking-head often gets very few.
Researcher. Finds supporting material, such as a clip or a photo that illustrates a point, and records where each one came from so it can be credited.
QC. The team's independent checker. Before a video ships it re-checks the final render: no repeated word slipped through, the sound and picture stay in step, and any on-screen text lands on the right moment. It returns either a pass or a short list of exactly what to fix.
Sound. Adds music and sound effects where they suit the video, and hands you the exact credit line to paste wherever you publish, since most free music asks for one.
Thumbnail. Designs the cover-image concepts, several per format, so you have a scroll-stopping still to publish alongside the video.
How they work together
The Creative Director starts on its own when you run a project. Once it has a plan, it brings in the specialists it needs, hands out the work, and they run in parallel, each in its own terminal. Their work flows back to the Director, through QC, and into the project's tabs for you. You can watch any of them: click a name in the Team row to see that agent's terminal and, in Live View above, the page it is looking at.
How do I know it worked?
When a project is running, the Team row lights up, the Creative Director first, then the specialists as it starts them. A small coloured dot next to each name shows whether it is idle, working, waiting on you, done, or errored.
Common problems
"Only the Creative Director is clickable, the rest are greyed out." The specialists have not been started yet. The Director starts them once it has a plan. Give it a moment after you click Run team.
"I clicked a specialist and it says it has not started yet." Same reason, or that specialist is not part of this edit. Lighter edit scopes run a smaller team, so not every name will come online on a quick edit. Watch the Creative Director instead.
"I expected a thumbnail but the Thumbnail agent never ran." The very quick and quick edit scopes do not make thumbnails. Choose Standard or Full, or ask for a thumbnail set. See How do I get video thumbnails?.
