1. The fastest way to request deletion
Email [email protected] from the address associated with your codus account, with the subject “Delete my data”. We will verify that the request comes from you, delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data, and confirm in writing. We respond within one month, as required by the UK GDPR, with the option to extend by a further two months for complex requests.
If you have a codus account, you can also start the process yourself in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account.
2. What gets deleted
On a verified deletion request we remove your account data, your profile, your settings, your project and task history held in your codus account, and your raw telemetry. Some records are kept for a limited period where the law requires it, principally billing and tax records, which we are obliged to retain for at least six years under HMRC rules. The full schedule of retention periods is in section 7 of our Privacy Policy. After the applicable retention period these records are deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
3. Connected accounts and integrations
codus can connect to third-party services you already use (for example Meta Ads, Google, GitHub, Vercel, Cloudflare and Xero). For these integrations, the access token you provide is stored encrypted on your own device, in a per-user application directory provided by your operating system. It is not held on codus servers. You can remove any connection at any time:
- In codus, open Settings → Integrations, find the service, and click Disconnect. This deletes the stored token from your device immediately.
- Uninstalling codus, or deleting its application-support folder, also removes every stored token and all local application state.
4. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) data
When you connect a Meta ad account to codus, you provide a Meta access token that codus uses to call the Meta Marketing API on your behalf (reading and managing your campaigns, ads and performance data at your instruction). codus stores only that token, encrypted on your device, together with a list of the ad accounts it can see. codus does not copy or retain your Meta advertising data, your audiences or your Facebook or Instagram profile on its servers.
To remove codus’s access to your Meta data:
- In codus: Settings → Integrations → Meta Ads → Disconnect. The token is deleted from your device, so codus can no longer reach your Meta account.
- In Meta: for a System User token, open Business Settings → System Users and remove the token, the system user, or the app’s access to your ad account. You can also review and remove connected apps under Settings → Business Integrations on your Facebook account.
Because codus holds no Meta data on its servers, disconnecting in codus and removing access in Meta together leave nothing for us to delete. If you would still like written confirmation, email [email protected] and we will provide it.
5. Deleting your whole codus account
A full account deletion removes your sign-in, your profile, your subscription record (subject to the legal retention of billing and tax documents), your saved settings and your codus account content. This is irreversible. If you have an active paid subscription, cancelling does not by itself delete your data, and deleting your data does not by itself process a refund: please tell us in your email if you want both, and see the refund terms in our Terms of Service.
