Claude Sonnet 5 pricing: the September 1 rise is bigger than it looks
Introductory pricing on Claude Sonnet 5 ends on 31 August and the headline is a 50% rise. The real number is different, because Sonnet 5 also counts tokens about 30% differently. I worked out what your bill actually does, using Anthropic’s own published figures.
