I was given a pack but I can't see its tab
Wait about a minute and it will appear on its own. Nothing announces it, so there is nothing to click and no message to look out for. The tab simply turns up in the bar along the top. If you are impatient, click on any other app and then back onto codus, which makes codus check straight away.
You do not need to restart codus, and you do not need to reinstall anything.
Which tab am I waiting for?
The name is always lowercase, and where it appears depends on the pack:
- SEO, video and floor appear in the bar along the top.
- chats and issues appear in the panel on the right.
If you are not sure which one you were given, ask whoever granted it.
Hurrying it along
Either of these makes codus ask immediately rather than waiting:
- Click away and back. Switch to any other app, then click back onto codus. That is enough on its own.
- Use the menu bar. With codus in front, choose View then Reload at the top of your screen. This reloads the codus window only. Your agents and their conversations are not part of that window, so nothing you have running is interrupted and no history is lost.
If it still is not there
Check with the person who granted it that it was applied to the right account. codus identifies you by your GitHub username, so a pack granted to a different account of yours will not reach the one you are signed in as.
A related problem: my agent cannot use the new abilities
Slightly different situation, and it catches people out because the tab is clearly there.
An agent learns what it can do at the moment its session starts, and keeps that list for as long as that session runs. If a pack was granted while an agent was already working, that agent carries on without the new abilities even though the tab has appeared.
Start a fresh agent session in that quadrant and it will pick them up.
Closing codus is not the same as quitting it
Worth knowing, because it explains why "I restarted it and that fixed it" is sometimes true.
On a Mac, closing the codus window does not quit codus. That is deliberate: your agents keep running so that opening a window again drops you back into the same conversations.
- Closes the window: the red button in the corner, or File then Close Window.
- Actually quits: codus then Quit codus in the menu bar, or right-click the codus icon in the dock and choose Quit.
There is no quit button inside codus itself. Quitting ends every running agent, which is why it can appear to fix the problem above, though starting a fresh agent session is the smaller and quicker fix.
How do I know it worked?
The tab is present and clicking it opens that area rather than doing nothing.
