How do I dictate to codus instead of typing?
With Codus Whisper set up, focus the place you want to write, press your configured hotkey, speak and stop the recording. Review the recognised text before pressing Enter or Send.
Before you start
Dictation must be on, the model ready and microphone permission granted. Use your configured shortcut; not every keyboard has a § key. This native setup is documented for Mac.
Dictate a message
- Click the target Chat message box or Agent terminal.
- Press your Whisper hotkey, or use the available microphone button.
- Speak, then press the hotkey again to stop.
- Read the text and correct it.
- Click Send in Chat or press Enter in the terminal.
Stop and send submits without the review step. Avoid it for text containing account changes, purchases or other actions you want to check first.
If you use SuperWhisper instead, use that app's shortcut and permissions. Do not assign both dictation apps the same shortcut.
What about answering choices?
A provider's terminal menu may require arrow keys and Enter. Dictating a sentence does not select that menu item. Chat's visible reply controls are separate.
How do I know it worked?
The text appears in the intended field and the agent receives it only when you send it, unless you deliberately chose Stop and send.
