How do I run an SEO audit with the team?

Open the project, click Run team in the top right of the workspace, and click Run in the dialog that appears. The SEO Manager starts, brings its specialists online, and they audit the site. It runs for a while and you can watch it in the right column. When it is finished, the results are in the project's Data, Analysis and Charts tabs.

Before you start

Step 1: Open the project and click Run team

  1. Click the project in the left column so its workspace opens in the centre.
  2. In the top right of that workspace, click Run team.

Step 2: Add an optional note, then Run

A small dialog opens, titled Run team. It offers an optional note for the Manager, described as "Optional note for the Manager, appended to the run protocol it receives. Leave empty for a normal run."

  • For a normal audit, leave the box empty.
  • To point the team at something specific, type it here, for example "focus on the /pricing page and its three closest competitors".
  • Two ready-made chips sit below the box: Continue after a crash (pick up where it left off) and Fresh start (ignore any earlier partial work). Click one to fill the note.

Click Run. The button shows Starting… while it boots.

Step 3: Watch it work

The team runs for a while. This is real analysis, not an instant answer, so expect it to take time while several agents work in parallel.

  • In the right column, the Team row lights up: first the SEO Manager, then the specialists as it starts them. Click any name to see that agent's terminal.
  • The Live View at the top mirrors the page an agent is looking at. The team reads live search results and competitor pages, so you will see browsers loading and moving on their own here. That is the agents at work, not something you need to touch.
  • A project that needs a decision from you shows a small dot in the left-column tree and turns its Team dot orange. See How do I guide or push back on the SEO team?.

Step 4: Stopping (if you need to)

While a project is running, the Run team button becomes a Stop button (it reads Cancel if the project is still queued and waiting for a slot). Click it to stop the team and release its browsers. It shows Stopping… while it winds down. You do not have to stop a run; it finishes on its own.

How do I know it worked?

Common problems

"I clicked Run team but only the Manager is active." That is the normal start. The Manager plans first, then brings the specialists online.

"It says the project is queued." codus runs several projects at once, and yours is waiting for a free slot. It starts automatically. See Can I run more than one SEO project at once?.

"A browser popped up and started clicking around." That is the team reading real search results and competitor pages in Live View. Leave it be; it is meant to.
