How do I jot a note or idea from my phone?
Open the Notes tab, pick the project the note belongs to, type it, and tap Add. The note syncs straight to that project on your codus desktop, so an idea you have on the move is waiting for you and your agents back at the Mac.
Before you start
You need at least one project folder synced from a desktop. If none has synced yet, the project chip reads "no folders synced" and you cannot add a note until a desktop has synced a folder.
Steps
- Sign in at app.trycodus.com and open the Notes tab.
- At the top, next to Project, tap the chip. If you have not picked one yet it reads "pick a project". Choose the project the note is for.
- Type your note in the box. It prompts you with "New note in [project]…". Before you pick a project it reads "Pick a project first…".
- Tap Add. On a computer you can also press Cmd or Ctrl and Enter to add it.
The helper under the box confirms what happens: "⌘/Ctrl+Enter to add · syncs to the codus desktop".
How do I know it worked?
The note appears in the list below the box under the project you chose. It is now saved to that project and shows up in the project's notes on the desktop. If a project has no notes yet, the list reads "No notes in this project yet — add your first above."
Common problems
- The note box is greyed out. You have not picked a project. Tap the Project chip at the top and choose one. Until then the box says "Pick a project first…".
- The chip says "no folders synced". No project folder has reached your account yet. Open codus on a desktop, signed in to the same GitHub account, and let it sync a folder first.
- I want to see notes for a different project. Tap the Project chip and switch. The list below shows only the chosen project's notes; before you pick one it says "Pick a project to see its notes."
