How do I check my Claude usage or add a second Claude account?

Look at the bottom-right of the app. The status bar shows a Claude button with a small bar and a percentage. Click it to open a panel with two parts: Usage shows how much of each account's limit you have used, and Accounts lets you sign in to more Claude accounts and choose which one your agents run on. This lives in the status bar, not in the settings page.

The usage bars

Click the Claude button at the bottom-right. Under the Usage heading you get one row per Claude account. Each row shows up to three bars for the different limit windows:

  • 5-hour (the window that usually runs out first)
  • weekly
  • a per-model weekly bar

Each bar shows X% used and, below it, when it resets, like "resets in 3h 20m" or "resets in 2d 4h". The colour is a traffic light: calm while low, amber from 70%, and red from 90%. A window with no limit reads no cap. Click the at the top of the panel to refresh the numbers now instead of waiting for the automatic check.

The account whose numbers show on the collapsed Claude button is the one that is actually being used for the quadrant you are focused on.

Adding another Claude account

You can sign codus into more than one Claude account and switch between them, which is useful when one account hits its limit.

  1. Click the Claude button to open the panel.

  2. Under the Accounts heading, click + Sign in.

  3. A browser tab opens. The panel shows:

A browser tab opened — pick the account you want and approve, then come back here.

  4. Choose the Claude account you want and approve, then return to codus. The new account appears in the list. While the sign-in is running, the button reads Cancel if you need to stop.

Your first, original account is marked with a small default tag.

Choosing which account an agent uses

There are two ways to point agents at a particular account.

One quadrant

Focus the quadrant you want to change first (click into it), then open the panel. Under Accounts you see Quadrant N uses with a row of choices:

  • Default login (or Follow system (email) if you have set a system-wide account), which means no special override for this quadrant.
  • One button per signed-in account.

Click an account to assign it to that quadrant. A note reminds you:

Relaunch this quadrant's agent to apply the switch.

If you had not focused a quadrant, the panel reads Focus a quadrant to assign an account instead.

Every quadrant at once

To move everything (all quadrants and the Brain) onto one account in a single click, find that account's row under Usage and click Use everywhere. The account that everything runs on is tagged everywhere. A note reads:

Every quadrant + the Brain run on . Relaunch an agent for it to take effect.

To go back, click Use everywhere on your default account's row.

Applying a switch in a running quadrant

If you switch the account for a quadrant whose agent is already running, a bar appears on that quadrant:

Claude account switched to . This agent is still running on .

Click Restart & keep conversation on that bar. codus relaunches the agent on the new account and resumes your conversation, so you do not lose your place.

When an account is signed out

If Claude can no longer log in as an account, a warning dot shows on the Claude button and that account's row is tagged signed out. Agents on it will fail. Open the panel and click Sign in again on that row to fix it. Usage bars alone are not proof an account is healthy; the signed out tag is what to watch for.

Common problems

  • The bars look fine but agents say they cannot log in. An account can still read its usage after its login has gone stale. Look for the signed out tag and click Sign in again.
  • I switched account but the agent kept using the old one. A switch needs the agent to relaunch. Use Restart & keep conversation on the quadrant's bar, or relaunch the agent yourself.
  • This is not my codus sign-in. Correct. The Claude account here is separate from your codus cloud account. See How do I sign in to my codus cloud account?.
