# Why can't I see the video tab?

The **video** tab only appears for accounts that have the Video module. If you do not have that module, the tab is not there at all, and neither is the **rec** button. That is by design, not a fault. If you were told you should have it, it may not have reached the account you are signed in as, or it may need a moment to arrive.

## Before you start

- codus identifies you by your GitHub username. A module granted to a different account of yours will not show up on the one you are signed in as.
- The **video** tab sits in the bar along the top, and its name is lowercase.

## The usual reason: no Video module

The Video module adds the whole video area: the **video** tab, the **rec** button for recording, and the team that edits your footage. Without it, none of that shows. See [What are the modules, and what does each one add?](../modules/what-are-the-modules.md).

## If it was granted a moment ago

A newly granted module can take about a minute to appear, and nothing announces it. To hurry it along:

- **Click away and back.** Switch to any other app, then click back onto codus. That is enough on its own.
- **Reload the window.** With codus in front, choose **View** then **Reload** in the menu bar at the top of your screen. This reloads only the codus window. Your agents and their conversations are not part of that window, so nothing you have running is interrupted.

You do not need to reinstall anything.

## A related catch: my agent cannot use the video tools

If the tab is clearly there but an agent you are already chatting to cannot set up or run a video project, that agent started before the module was granted. An agent learns what it can do when its session starts and keeps that list for the whole session. Start a fresh agent session and it picks up the new abilities.

## Someone else's codus shows more tabs

A development or demo build shows every area regardless of what is paid for. A normal account only shows the modules it holds, so having fewer tabs than a colleague's demo machine is expected, not broken.

## How do I know it worked?

A tab labelled **video** is present in the top bar, and clicking it opens the video workspace rather than doing nothing. The **rec** button also appears in the top bar.
