# How do I film or send footage from my phone to Codus?

Use the [phone Video library](https://app.trycodus.com/video) to choose a project and film into it, or [Send a clip](https://app.trycodus.com/film) to upload an existing recording. A successful upload can wait for your desktop; it does not mean the clip has already been imported or edited.

## Before you start

Sign into the phone and desktop with the same GitHub account. Have access to Video and keep the desktop online when you want it to receive and process footage. AI editing uses the services configured for your team.

The phone library reflects project and script listings. It is not a promise that every original video, render or asset is backed up there.

## Film into a project

1. Open **Video** on the phone and select the intended folder and project.
2. Choose **Read** to use an available script as a teleprompter, or **Film** to record a take for that project.
3. Allow the browser's camera and microphone access, check the framing and start **Record**.
4. Stop when finished and keep the page open while the upload completes.
5. Check the destination project on the desktop once it is available.

The project filming route currently requests automatic editing. It is not the same workflow as the separate upload page's optional switch below. Reading a script on screen does not burn its text into the camera recording.

## Send an existing clip

1. Open **Send a clip**, choose your recording and describe what you want done.
2. Set **Start editing straight away**. On starts editing when the desktop receives it; off leaves a draft for you to run later.
3. Under **Optional**, set the project name and folder if needed.
4. Click **Send to codus** and keep the page open through the upload.
5. Wait for **Sent. It is waiting for your desktop** before closing the page.

## If the clip has not arrived

Check the upload result, internet connection, matching GitHub account and whether the intended desktop is awake with Codus running. Look in the destination project's **Files**. Do not repeatedly upload the same take without checking first, as retries can leave duplicates.

## How do I know it worked?

There are three separate checks: the phone confirms upload, the clip appears in the desktop project, and the team starts only when automatic editing was requested or you run it. Keep the original recording until you verify the received clip plays correctly.
