# What is the support floor?

The floor is a full-screen wall of every live conversation across all your products at once, each in its own column with a reply box underneath, so you can watch everything and jump into any conversation from one screen. Open it with the **floor** button in the top bar of codus, or the **⫼ floor** button in the **chats** tab. It is where you keep an eye on a busy support desk at a glance.

## Before you start

- You need the **Support** module and to be signed in to codus cloud. Without the module there is no **floor** button. See [Why can't I see the support tabs?](why-cant-i-see-the-support-tabs.md).
- The **chats** tab shows one project's conversations; the floor shows all of them together, account-wide.

## Opening and closing it

- Open it from the **floor** button in the top bar, or from **⫼ floor** in the **chats** tab.
- Close it with the **×** at the top right, or by pressing **Escape**. Closing the floor returns you to your normal grid of projects; nothing that is running is affected.

## What is on the floor

Across the top:

- The title **Support floor**.
- A count, for example "3 active · 12 closed", so you can see the load at a glance.
- A strip of the support agents currently working, each labelled like "w1 answering", "w2 idle", or "w3 starting". Click any of them to watch its live terminal in an overlay, then close the overlay to step back out. It never disturbs the agent's work.

Below that, one column per live conversation. Each column shows:

- The product it came from and the page the visitor was on when they opened the chat.
- A status chip, which becomes a button when an agent is on the conversation, so you can jump straight to watching that agent.
- The transcript, scrolling live as messages arrive.
- The same **take over**, **release**, and **resolve** actions as the **chats** tab.
- A reply box. Typing in it takes the conversation over, exactly as in the sidebar. The box hints "Type to take over…" until you do, then "Reply as yourself…".

## Which conversations appear

The floor shows every conversation that is not closed. That includes ones an agent is actively answering, ones waiting for attention, and ones that have been escalated to the team. Closed conversations are counted in the header but do not take up a column. When nothing is live, the floor reads:

> No active conversations — the floor lights up as visitors write. Waiting and escalated threads land here too.

## How do I know it worked?

The **floor** button opens a full-screen view titled **Support floor**. During a quiet spell it shows the empty message above; as visitors write in, columns appear and update on their own.

## Common problems

**There is no floor button.** The **floor** button only appears with the Support module. See [Why can't I see the support tabs?](why-cant-i-see-the-support-tabs.md).

**The floor is empty but I know people are chatting.** The floor is account-wide, so an empty floor means there are genuinely no open conversations right now. If a single project's **chats** tab looks empty instead, that project may have no bound instance yet. See [How do I connect a support chat to a project?](how-do-i-connect-a-support-chat-to-a-project.md).
