# How do I contact support about Codus itself?

Click **Customer support** in Codus's bottom bar to ask for help with Codus itself. This is different from the Support module used to run a chat widget on your own website; you do not need to buy that module merely to ask Codus for help.

## Before you start

For an account question, sign in using the GitHub account affected by the problem. The AI provider email, billing email and GitHub identity can differ. Do not send passwords, full card details, access tokens or an entire unredacted settings file.

## Send a useful report

1. Open **Customer support**.
2. Describe what you expected, what happened and the last action before it failed.
3. Include your operating system and **Settings → Updates → Current version**.
4. For a provider issue, include the provider name and exact error. For billing, give the affected GitHub username and a private receipt reference.
5. Attach a cropped screenshot if it clarifies the problem, with sensitive information removed.

A recorded issue or acknowledgement is not proof that a fix has shipped. If a person needs to confirm an account change, wait for that confirmation rather than repeat the purchase or delete your data.

## How do I know it worked?

Your message appears in the support conversation and you receive an acknowledgement or reply. If the question requires investigation, keep the conversation so the team has the original context.
