# Where do I find notifications, announcements and email preferences?

Click **Notifications** in the bottom bar to read product notices and announcements. This inbox is separate from agent attention alerts, dictation sounds and the app updater.

## Read product notices

1. Click **Notifications**.
2. Open an item to read its detail and mark it read.
3. Use **Mark all read** to clear the unread count.
4. Close the panel. Reading an item does not install an update or change a subscription.

A dismissed announcement banner can still be found in this panel. An empty panel means there are no notices available to display; it does not prove a specific app version is installed.

## Agent alerts and sounds

An agent can send a desktop notification when it needs attention while Codus is not focused. Clicking a quadrant alert brings you back to that quadrant. Operating-system notification permissions and any Codus notification setting affect this channel; reading the announcements inbox does not enable it.

Whisper sounds are configured separately in **Settings → Codus Whisper**.

## Email and updates

Open [Codus Cloud email preferences](https://app.trycodus.com/email-preferences), or use **profile menu → email preferences**, to manage the email choices shown for your account.

For app versions, use **Settings → Updates**. See [updating Codus](keeping-codus-updated.md). An email or announcement about a release is not installation confirmation.

## How do I know it worked?

Read notices no longer count as unread. The relevant preference shows the chosen setting. Confirm app updates using **Current version**, not the notification badge.
