# How do I add or change a reusable agent skill?

Open **Settings → Skills** to manage your own reusable instructions. A saved [skill](../glossary/what-the-words-mean.md) gives agents a workflow or checklist they can use when its description matches the task.

## Before you start

Write only instructions you want agents to use. Keep passwords and API keys out of skill text. A skill describes how to work; it does not grant account access or replace an integration connection.

## Create or edit a skill

1. Open the **gear → See all settings → Skills**.
2. Click **New skill**.
3. Enter a **Name**, a **Description** explaining when to use it, and the instruction body.
4. Click **Save**. Use **Search skills** to find it again.
5. Open an existing skill to edit it, or use **Delete** and confirm if it is no longer needed.

Saved changes are available to agents from their next turn. They do not rewrite an answer already in progress.

## Why are some skills missing or generated?

This page manages your library, not the full set of bundled Codus skills. Their absence from this list does not mean they were removed.

A custom integration can produce a generated skill. Edit the integration's documentation in **Settings → Integrations** when you want that source changed; saving the integration can overwrite a direct edit to its generated skill.

## How do I know it worked?

The skill appears in the list with the intended description. On the next suitable task, ask the agent which instructions it used if you need confirmation.
