# How do I send a phone photo to a quadrant or Brain?

In Codus 0.2.177 and later, the camera button labelled **Send a photo from your phone** opens a QR code for the selected quadrant or Brain. The photo goes to that target, so check its name before scanning.

1. Open the intended quadrant or select the intended Brain, then click its camera button.
2. Keep Codus and the QR window open. Scan with your phone camera, or use **Copy link** to open the same page on the phone.
3. When the desktop shows **Phone connected**, finish on your phone: take or choose the photo, add a note if needed and choose whether to submit it to the agent or leave it in the terminal input.
4. Send from the phone and wait for the desktop receipt before trying again.

The code lasts 30 minutes. Closing its window cancels that code; open a new one if needed. The computer must be awake, online and running Codus to receive the file.

## How do I know it worked?

**Was sent to the agent** means the photo and note were submitted. **Is pasted in the terminal, ready for you to finish** means they were inserted without submitting, so you can add instructions first. If no agent is running, Codus saves the photo and shows its local path instead.

The photo is saved on the receiving computer. Upload, local receipt and the agent reading it are separate steps. A receipt does not prove the agent finished your request or that the file is available on another computer. Share only images you intend that provider to process.

For ordinary desktop screenshots, see [sending an image in Chat](chat-with-your-agent.md#sending-a-picture). Phone video intake is a separate [Video workflow](../video/film-or-send-footage-from-your-phone.md).
