# What happens if I turn a module off?

Your work is safe. Turning a module off removes the person's access to that area and stops the charge, but it does not delete anything they made with it. The studies, projects and campaigns stay on their machine, and come back if you turn the module on again. On the team page, click the module button that is on, and it switches off with a single click, no confirmation.

## How to turn one off

1. Go to [app.trycodus.com/team](https://app.trycodus.com/team).
2. Find the person and the module button showing a tick, for example **SEO ✓**.
3. Click it. It turns off immediately. There is no "are you sure", because nothing is lost.

You see **Module disabled — unused time credits your next invoice**.

## What happens to their work

Nothing is deleted. Everything they created with the module lives on their own computer, and turning the module off does not touch it. If you turn the module back on later, it is all still there.

What does change on their side:

- **The area disappears from codus** within about a minute. If they were looking at it, they are moved back to the main grid.
- **The agents lose the know-how for that area.** codus removes the specialist skills that came with the module. These come back automatically if you re-enable it.

## The money side

You are not refunded, you are credited. The unused part of the time you already paid for is put towards your next invoice rather than paid back to your card. So turning a module off part-way through a month is not wasted, it just lands as a discount next time.

## How do I know it worked?

The module button no longer shows a tick, and on the person's side the area is gone from codus within a minute.

## A word of warning about your own subscription

The modules for everyone on your team are carried on the account that pays for the plan. This is different from deliberately turning a module off: if the paying account's card fails, **everyone's** modules stop resolving until it is fixed, and from their side a tab simply vanishes with no explanation. If several people lose a module tab at once and nobody turned anything off, check the subscription first.
