# How do I connect WordPress to codus?

Open **Integrations** in settings, find the **WordPress** card under **Hosting + deployment**, and fill in three boxes: your **site address**, your **WordPress username**, and an **application password** you create in your WordPress admin. Then click **Connect**. Once connected, codus can work straight in your CMS: read, create, and edit posts and pages, manage categories and tags, and prepare content as drafts for your review. It creates content as drafts unless you tell it to publish.

## Before you start

- Your site needs **WordPress 5.6 or newer** and must be served over **HTTPS**. Application passwords are a built-in WordPress feature, but they only work on a secure site.
- You need an admin or author account on the site.
- An application password is different from your normal login password. You create a separate one for codus, and you can revoke it later without changing your real password.

## Steps

1. In your browser, sign in to your WordPress admin and open **Users → Profile**. Scroll to **Application Passwords**.
2. Type a name like **codus** and create the password. WordPress shows it **only once**, so copy it straight away.
3. Come back to codus. Open the gear (**⚙**), click **See all settings →**, then click **Integrations**, and find the **WordPress** card.
4. In the first box, enter your **site address**, for example `https://example.com`.
5. In the second box, enter your **WordPress username**.
6. In the third box, paste the **application password** you copied.
7. Click **Connect**.

## How do I know it worked?

The card shows a green **Connected** label with your username and site, for example "Connected · yourname · example.com". codus validated the three details against your site, so this confirms it can reach WordPress as you.

## Common problems

- **Connect failed and my site is on http.** Application passwords require HTTPS. Move the site to HTTPS, or the feature stays disabled in WordPress.
- **The password did not work.** Application passwords are shown once. If you lost it or typed it wrong, create a fresh one in **Users → Profile → Application Passwords** and paste that. Use the application password, not your normal login password.
- **The site address was rejected.** Enter the full address including `https://`, for example `https://example.com`.
- **I want to cut codus off fast.** Revoke the application password in your WordPress admin. That instantly stops codus reaching your site. You can also click **Disconnect** on the card and confirm.
