# How do I connect GoDaddy to codus?

Open **Integrations** in settings, find the **GoDaddy** card under **Hosting + deployment**, and click **Connect**. The card walks you through creating a **Personal Access Token** on the GoDaddy developer site, then you paste it in and click **Connect**. Once connected, codus has full API access to list your domains with expiry dates, manage DNS, check availability and pricing, and register or renew domains. This one takes about two minutes.

## Before you start

- You need a GoDaddy account with at least one domain, or the intention to buy one.
- GoDaddy shows the token once, so keep codus open to paste it straight back.
- If you still hold an older GoDaddy API **key and secret** pair, you can use that instead (see the last step).

## Steps

1. Open the gear (**⚙**), click **See all settings →**, then click **Integrations**.
2. Find the **GoDaddy** card and click **Open the GoDaddy access-token page**. Your browser opens developer.godaddy.com/personal-access-token.
3. Sign in if asked, then click **+ Generate Token**.
4. Name it **codus**, pick an expiration you are comfortable with, and give it the scopes you want codus to have. At a minimum add **domains.domain:read**. Add the DNS and purchase scopes too if you want agents to manage records or buy domains.
5. Copy the token. GoDaddy shows it **once**. If you miss it, generate a fresh one.
6. Come back to codus, paste the token into the **Personal Access Token** box, and click **Connect**.
7. Using an older key and secret pair instead? Paste it as **KEY:SECRET** (the two values with a colon between them). It still works, though GoDaddy is retiring those keys.

## How do I know it worked?

The card shows a green **Connected** label with a count of the domains it can see, for example "Connected · 12 domains". That count is read straight from your GoDaddy account, so it confirms the token is valid.

## Common problems

- **codus connected but sees no domains, or cannot change DNS.** Your token is missing a scope. Generate a new token that includes the DNS scope (and the purchase scope if you want codus to buy or renew), then reconnect.
- **My key and secret would not connect.** Paste them joined by a colon, as **KEY:SECRET**, with no spaces. If GoDaddy has already retired that key, generate a Personal Access Token instead.
- **I missed the token.** GoDaddy shows a token once. Generate a fresh one and paste that.
- **I want to disconnect.** Click **Disconnect** and confirm. codus forgets the token; reconnect any time with a new one.
